Each year Scottsdale Unified School District’s Service Learning students deliver turkeys and all the trimmings to less fortunate families throughout the District. The holiday boxes are a result of weeks of food drives and fundraisers.
This year, the Service Learning program needs your help. The program is asking the community to donate the following items:
- Boxed potatoes
- Canned vegetables
- Stuffing
- Frozen turkeys
Donations can be dropped off at the front office during the week of November 17-21.
Attention Desert Mountain
Tomorrow is a major opportunity to come out and support your Varsity Cheer and Pom teams! They are competing in the AIA State Qualifier tomorrow. Desert Mountain is hosting this competition in the main gym. Our Pommies and Cheerleaders will be competing against 5AI Pom & Cheer teams from all over Arizona. Show your “wolfpack pride” and cheer for our school’s spirit leaders! Varsity Cheer’s Stunt Group is scheduled to compete at 3:08pm. Varsity Pom is scheduled to compete at 4:01pm. And, the Varsity Cheer Squad is scheduled to compete at 5:44pm. BEST WISHES, LADIES!!! Dr. Fox expects to see DM athletes from ALL of our teams come out to support the ladies especially Varsity Football and Basketball.
COUNSELING
Attention any students that may be interested in the ROTC opportunities in college. There will be a former DMHS graduate, Leon Johnson, on campus Monday, Nov. 24 from 11:45 – 12:45 to talk about ROTC opportunities for college and his experiences at Purdue University.

Attention any students that may be interested in finding out information about the United States Naval Academy: There will be a former DMHS student that is a cadet at the Naval Academy on our campus in the Career Center on Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 11:30 – 12:30. Please stop by to hear about the opportunities available. If you are interested in attending and it is during a class please see Mr. Kellen in the Counseling office to receive a pass for that time.
SPORTS
Coach Berry, the DMHS girls basketball coach, is looking for a team manager. If interested, please see Mrs. Oppenheim in the athletics office.
CLUB
Any Service Learning, IB, NHS, Spanish Honor Society students or Seniors in need of community service hours: DMHS is hosting an AIA Spiritline competition tomorrow from 8am-8pm! To volunteer for a two hour shift, half day or all day, please see Dr. Fox in the front office during your lunch. This is your last opportunity to sign up.
The International Microfinance Club will be having a Thanksgiving bake sale on November 24th, 25th & 26th. Cookies and other baked items will be sold in the 7000 building and outside the library.
Members of the Spanish National Honor Society that signed up to participate in the Adopt-a-Family drive, please make sure to sign up for a specific gift with Sra. Andarcia.
CLUB MEETINGS
DECA: meeting Monday, Nov 24th at 12:15 in room 3103.
TEEN CERT: will be meeting this Friday and every Friday in Room 8101 right after school from 3-3:30 pm. Please arrive on time, we have lots discuss and prepare.
Video Productions Club: will be having a meeting this Friday (11/21) at 3:00pm in the DMTV Video Productions room (room #1147)
