2026-2027 Sports Physicals - Honor Health
Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) athletes must undergo a physical examination – dated after Sunday, March 1, 2026 – to participate in any Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) athletic practices or competitions.
SPORTS PHYSICALS

The HonorHealth Sports Medicine team is partnering with SUSD to offer physical exams for SUSD student athletes at a reduced cost. The exam is performed by certified athletic trainers, physical therapists and licensed physicians. It will involve a comprehensive orthopedic and general medical evaluation plus a comprehensive heart screening, including an EKG, at no additional cost.
Our team provides care for athletes at all SUSD high schools throughout the school year through athletic trainers and sports medicine physicians.

Can't make it Saturday, May 16? Visit an HonorHealth Urgent Care to receive your physical at the standard $50 co-pay fee.
Appointments Appointments are required. For questions or scheduling assistance, please contact Lead Athletic Trainer Nickie Edwards at nedwards@susd.org or your school's head athletic trainer.
Cost: $25. We accept cash or checks. 100% of profits will go directly to your school's athletic training program.
Preparing for your appointment:
- Loose-fitting T-shirt or tank top
- Athletic shorts (you may wear pants over your shorts)
- Athletic shoes
- Corrective eyewear (contacts, glasses)
- Completed AIA forms with athlete's information, medical history, and all required signatures before arriving.

National Signing Day
A time honored tradition, that happens 3-4 times each school year, is to hold a ceremony for any student-athlete who is moving onto college in their respective sport. Dr. Voie Stuart Chase Coy Individual and Team Awards for Athletics and Activities - Arizona Interscholastic Association
The Arizona Interscholastic Association participated in the 28th year of the Scholar Athlete/Activity Program, designed to recognize individual students and teams.
Individual Awards - Any individual athlete or activity participant who is a member of a varsity athletic team or AIA sanctioned activity program and earns a 3.500 grade point average on a 4.000 scale for the first semester in both first and second semester sports/activities.
Team Awards – Any varsity athletic team or AIA sanctioned activity program with a composite 3.500 grade point average on a 4.000 scale. A Team is defined as a varsity group recognized as athletic or activity members at the completion of the sport/activity season for the first semester in both first and second semester sports/activities.
Desert Mountain is proud to recognize the following Individuals and Teams in the Fall, Winter, and Spring Sport Seasons (see link below) and they will be receiving a certificate acknowledging their academic achievements. We are very proud of each and every one of our DMHS Students and that being a "Student" first and foremost is something you take just as serious as we do! Thank you for being such great leaders and role models!
